Coastal Bend Food Bank 10th Annual Miles for Meals 5k Run/Walk

On November 9, 2019, the Coastal Bend Food Bank held our 10th Annual Miles for Meals 5k Run/Walk along the Corpus Christi bayfront.  Runners and walkers from across the Coastal Bend joined the evening event to help raise money for the Coastal Bend Food Bank Kid’s Backpack program.

The Kid’s Backpack program provides a bag of nutritious food each Friday during the school year for children identified as food insecure in order to have food during weekends and holidays. It is the goal of CBFB to end childhood hunger in the Coastal Bend.

Today, the Coastal Bend Food Bank Miles for Meals Committee presented the final numbers from the event to CBFB Director, Bea Hanson a total amount of $31, 780.00.  Thank you to all our sponsors, gift-in-kind donors, participants, and our many volunteers who helped to make the Miles for Meals 5k Run/Walk another success!
