Job Title:  Nutrition Educator – Full-Time

Job Summary: Implementing Nutrition Education curriculum to children, adults and families.  Scheduling and conducting nutrition classes with corresponding cooking demonstrations to various sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Encourage and support nutrition education designed to help SNAP participants and eligible in areas to choose healthy foods and active lifestyles as set forth by SNAP-ED Plans Guidance.
  • Carry out 2-6 week series classes
  • Keep record on attendance, participation, and means testing on each participant
  • Provide sites with materials and information needed to host a Nutrition Education class and ensure program procedures are followed.
  • Involvement and promotion in community outreach by participating in Health Fairs, Community Education Conferences, Public speaking and TV presentations, etc. as needed.
  • Assist Nutrition Education Manager in creating innovative nutrition education classes as needs arise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or certification in Nutrition or Health preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Group facilitation experience also preferred.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that might include some evenings and Saturdays.

Rate of Pay:  $14.00/hr

Job Title:  Product Recovery Inspector Evening shift- Part time

Job Summary: The primary responsibilities of this position are to ensure maximum utilization and proper handling and inspection of donated product and to provide training and supervision of volunteers.

Job Duties:

  • Receive and inspect perishable/salvage product
  • Assess the condition of donations, placing acceptable products in proper storage and immediately discarding all unacceptable products
  • Keep accurate log entries of all donations
  • Mark, sort and box all recovered product
  • Supervise and train all volunteers assisting with product inspections
  • Follow procedures pertaining to proper handling of inventory temperatures
  • Maintain first in/first out inventory control
  • Report any spoilage or disposal of inventory to the Inventory Coordinator
  • Submit required reports and information to the Inventory Coordinator and Management
  • Operate forklifts, electric and manual pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment
  • Conduct periodic physical inventories as directed
  • Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of the warehouse and equipment
  • Comply with all health regulations and other laws that govern food handling

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience operating a forklift and food handling/inspection.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide with comprehension.
  • Must be available to work evenings and Saturdays.

Rate of Pay:  $9/hour
