If you or an organization you are affiliated with would like to sponsor a food drive, here are a few guidelines to remember.
Before the Food Drive please complete the Food Drive Request Form
Be sure to provide the exact dates for your food drive including all locations of food collection points along with a point of contact for your organization. The CBFB can provide 55-gallon collection barrels upon request. Contacting the CBFB before you begin your food drive is very important, as we can help promote the food drives on our website and social media sites.

Foods to Donate

Canned Foods
VEGETABLES: Carrots, Peas, Green Beans, Mixed Vegetables, Tomatoes
FRUIT: Peaches, Pears, Pineapple, Mixed fruit, Oranges
PROTEIN: Ham, turkey, chicken, salmon, tuna, beans, peanut butter
SOUPS: Low sodium soups
GRAINS: Pasta, Macaroni & Cheese, Rice (Brown), Cereal
OTHER ITEMS: Pasta Sauce & Juice
PERSONAL CARE ITEMS: Toothpaste, shampoo, bath soap, toilet tissue, baby diapers
HOUSEHOLD ITEMS: Laundry detergent, dish soap
After the Food Drive
Upon the conclusion of your food drive, you may deliver your collected food directly to the Coastal Bend Food Bank warehouse located at 826 Krill street.
If you need help in transporting your collected food to warehouse location please contact our transportation & maintenance manager, Frank Gallegos, at (361) 887-6291, ext. 107 or fgallegos@coastalbendfoodbank.org
Once the food has been either delivered or picked up by the CBFB, it will be inspected, sorted and boxed for distribution. A receipt of the amount collected by your food drive will be mailed to you or your organization, so please provide an address and all relevant contact information.
Please remember community food drives include all canned goods and nonperishable food items.
Monetary Donations
If would like to have a monetary donation drive for the CBFB, please contact Micaela Stewart, Multimedia Communications Coordinator at (361) 887-6291, ext. 5101 or at mcalderon@coastalbendfoodbank.org

Contacting the CBFB before you begin your monetary collections is very important, as we help promote your monetary drive via our website and social media sites.
The CBFB accepts all cash donations and check donations. All all monetary donations in the form of a check need to be made out specifically to Coastal Bend Food Bank.
If you would like to sponsor a monetary food drive ‘in memoriam’ please follow the same guidelines listed above but please remember the checks still need to be made out to the Coastal Bend Food Bank to qualify for tax deductions.
