37th Annual Share Your Christmas Food Drive

Let’s Make a Difference Together!

Tis’ the Season to “SHARE YOUR CHRISTMAS” with the Coastal Bend Food Bank and KIII-TV! We are thrilled to invite your school to join us for the 37th Annual Share Your Christmas Food Drive. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of families in need this holiday season.

Why Participate?

This initiative is a fantastic way for your students to give back to the community while helping those facing food insecurity. All schools in the eleven-county service area are invited to participate by collecting canned food and monetary donations for the Coastal Bend Food Bank. Your efforts will help local families, and your school will have the chance to win one of three $800 Grand Prizes sponsored by generous donors and awarded to the top-performing schools in the small, large, and rural school categories.

How to Reach Your Goal:

  • Encourage your students, staff, and community to donate! Friends, family, and neighbors can contribute by donating $5, $10, $20, or more online and selecting your school to credit their donation.
  • Every $5 donated provides 20 Christmas meals!
  • Every 5 lbs. of non-perishable food collected equals $1!

How to Participate:

If your school is interested in participating in this year’s SYC School Food Drive, please submit a completed registration form to Michael Rodriguez and Joel Vasquez.

Key Dates:

  • Contest Dates: Monday, October 7th – Friday, December 6th, 2024.
  • Collection Arrangements: After December 4th, the Coastal Bend Food Bank will contact schools to arrange the collection of food donations.
  • Monetary Donations: Cash donations cannot be accepted. To be counted in the final tally, all monetary donations must be submitted via check or money order no later than December 12th.
  • Final Tabulations: All canned food and online monetary donations will be calculated and finalized on Friday, December 13th.

The schools with the highest monetary donations in each category will be announced on KIII-TV on December 13th. We will invite the winning schools to attend the check presentation, which will be featured on-air that evening.
