Coastal Bend Food Bank – COVID-19 (coronavirus) Update

Coastal Bend Food Bank – COVID-19 (coronavirus) Update

The Coastal Bend Food Bank has been and is closely monitoring the developments related to COVID-19 (coronavirus), in our world, country, state, and specifically in our service areas. The health and well-being of our clients, volunteers, and our staff is vital to CBFB. We do know there are no known cases in Corpus Christi or our 11-county service area.

We want to assure our community that the Coastal Bend Food Bank is open and operating with a full staff to serve the needs of people facing hunger in the Coastal Bend. We have taken precautionary measures to ensure the health safety of all who work and visit the Coastal Bend Food Bank. Hand sanitizer stations have been set up in our warehouse, nutrition education center, and offices to be used by anyone who visits our facility. Our maintenance team has been working diligently to keep all common areas clean and sanitized throughout the day.

We will continue to treat everyone who visits CBFB, Mobile Pantry distributions, or any of our Partner Agencies with respect and dignity. Coronavirus does not target specific populations, ethnicities, socioeconomic status, or racial backgrounds.

We welcome the community to VOLUNTEER in helping to pack Emergency Food Boxes. If you are unable to volunteer your time, we ask that you consider a donation to help fill the needs of families in need. Please be vigilant in sanitizing/handwashing at home, work, and when visiting any public places such as the Food Bank and ask that you stay home if you have symptoms.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and as we learn more, our current health safety measures may change. We will update the community as needed. To stay current with updates in regards to the case, we ask that you visit your local county health department sites or visit https://www.cdc.gov/.
