FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I am a first-time Volunteer and new to the Coastal Bend Food Bank. How do I sign up?

Please click on Volunteer Registration and enter the required information. Once you are registered into our system you will be allowed to sign up for available time slots to volunteer.

What age do I have to be to volunteer?

Ages 10-15 are welcome with adult supervision. The accompanying adult must work with the teen and be registered for the shift. Ages 16 and up are welcome to come on their own. For mobile distribution, ages 16 and up are welcome.

What happens if I don’t register and show up to volunteer?

We limit the number of volunteers in the warehouse, per our time shifts. If you do not register and show up, we may not be able to accommodate you if the time slot is full. We recommend calling us at 361-887-6291 for availability.

Where can I store my belongings when I arrive?

We are very limited on space in our Warehouse offices, please leave all personal belongings in your vehicle. *Please be sure to lock your vehicle* If you choose to leave your valuables in our office, we are not liable for lost or stolen items.

I need to do Community Service; how do I sign up?

I need to volunteer for my school, how do I sign up?

Please register as an individual volunteer and sign up for a time shift. If you have papers to be signed, PLEASE give them to our Volunteer Coordinator, Maia Pope, when you sign in.
