Three years ago, the Coastal Bend Food Bank was honored to be awarded the Eva Longoria Foundation and The Howard G. Buffett Foundation Mentorship & Backpack Program Grant for $53,000 a year for three years.

This grant was designed to provide backpacks to children coming through the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastal Bend. Over 7,000 children have received backpacks of nutritious food to take home for the weekend through this program, this would not have been possible without the generosity of The Eva Longoria Foundation & The Howard G. Buffett Foundation.

Over 30.6 thousand meals have been provided to children in our Coastal Bend service area by this program since the grant began three years ago. We look forward to a continued partnership with these two amazing foundations so that we may continue to serve the children in the coastal bend community.
