Volunteer with the Coastal Bend Food Bank
We value our volunteers and invite you to join our mission to fight food insecurity. Here’s what you need to know about volunteering with us.
All volunteers are required to Register Here before choosing a time slot. Once registered, you can select your preferred volunteer shift. Each volunteer must register individually, including family members or groups.

Reminder: If coming from freeway exit to Bear Ln turn right; there is an opening to the side of the construction sign you can enter thru to get to the food bank, the detour through the other side will not let you enter.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Age limits: Ages 8 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult. As a working warehouse, we prioritize maintaining a safe environment for all our volunteers and staff.
- Mobile Distributions: Volunteers must be 16 years or older
Dress Code:
- Closed-toed shoes required; no high heels, sandals, or flip flops.
- Long pants or appropriate shorts.
- No sleeveless shirts, tank tops or mid drift shirts. (Shirts must completely cover stomach area)
- Dress warmly in winter; dress lightly in summer.
Dress Code for Cooler/Freezer Work:
There is a possibility that some of you may be assigned tasks that require working in cooler or freezer environments. To ensure your comfort and safety, we highly recommend that all volunteers:
- Bring a jacket or wear a warm sweater.
- Wear long pants to protect against the cold.
- Consider wearing layers that can be easily adjusted based on your assigned tasks.
Your health and comfort are important to us, and proper attire will help ensure a positive volunteer experience.
To ensure safety, leave valuables at home or locked in your trunk.
